About Us
Nantucket Deconstruction & Salvage is a nonprofit organization dedicated to keeping reusable building materials out of the landfill.
We carefully dismantle homes, salvaging everything we can — from cabinets and doors to flooring and fixtures — and make these materials available to our community at affordable prices.

We focus on reducing waste, protecting our environment, and promoting sustainability in our beautiful island community.
By giving salvaged materials a second life, we support sustainable building practices, reduce construction waste, and preserve Nantucket’s natural beauty for generations to come.
How it works:
1. Schedule a Consultation
We work with homeowners and contractors to plan a careful deconstruction.
2. Careful Dismantling
Our team carefully salvages everything that can be reused — from doors and windows to appliances and fixtures.
3. Store & Sell
Salvaged items are brought to our warehouse and sold at very affordable prices.
4. Support Our Mission
Every contribution helps cover the costs of labor, transportation, and storage, ensuring that valuable materials are given a second life. Eligible donations may also offer potential tax benefits, with the value of donated materials documented and tallied by the donor’s accountant or qualified tax professional in accordance with applicable tax requirements.
